Our little team at HOM isn’t so little anymore. We’ve been fortunate to work with our community partners to expand permanent housing solutions to homelessness in Maricopa County in the past couple of years and have expanded our team as a result. Every team needs strong and effective leadership, and we’re excited to share with you some updates on our leadership team at HOM.
Effective March 1, 2015, Sharon Shore is now Chief Programs Officer at HOM. In this role, Sharon is responsible for the management and oversight of all of the housing programs and other services provided to HOM partners and customers. Sharon supervises all program team members and is the primary point of contact for our partners for all housing program-related matters.
Sharon founded HOM, Inc., in 1994 and led the organization in its early years, establishing HOM as the primary provider of permanent supportive housing for the Maricopa County Regional Behavioral Health Authority. Prior to starting HOM, Sharon served as the Executive Director of the Casper, Wyoming public housing authority and was later appointed by the Secretary of the U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as the Special Assistant to the Regional Administrator of the Denver Regional HUD office. Sharon later served as the Executive Director for the Scottsdale, Arizona public housing authority. Sharon brings decades of experience in the affordable and special needs housing industries. She is also intensely focused on HOM’s delivery of unparalleled customer service and excellence in program administration.
Brian Petersen continues in his role as Chief Operations Officer for HOM, and leads our team’s overall strategic and operational efforts. Brian is the primary point of contact for our partners on contract management and other business-related matters. Brian started with HOM in 2001 and has served as COO since 2005. From 2012 to 2014, Brian led the organization while Mike served on the national 100,000 Homes Campaign team. During that period, Brian directed both programmatic and business operations and is primarily responsible for the growth and diversification of our services in the community. Brian earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in 2010 and is excited to focus his energy on bringing his formal education and business acumen to bear in making HOM a world-class organization.
