Michael began his career in affordable housing for those with special needs and experiencing homelessness at HOM, Inc., as its first employee in July 1994. Michael served in a variety of positions with the company throughout its history, including Housing Specialist, HQS Inspector, Operations Coordinator and Chief Operating Officer, prior to becoming owner of HOM, Inc., in 2005. Michael currently serves as President and CEO of HOM, Inc., providing leadership for the company towards the achievement of its mission and strategic goals. As the primary spokesperson and representative of the company, Michael seeks to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders in the community. Under his leadership, HOM, Inc., has become an integral partner in local efforts to end homelessness. In 2010, Michael took a leadership role in Project H3: Home, Health, Hope; the Maricopa County implementation of the 100,000 Homes Campaign. In coordinating the local initiative, Michael worked closely with Community Solutions in its efforts to support other campaign communities through the dissemination of the campaign model, innovations and best practices. In January 2012, Michael joined the national 100,000 Homes Campaign team and served as Director of Operations for the Campaign through its conclusion in July 2014. A proud Sun Devil, Michael has a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Arizona State University. He is the Designated Real Estate Broker for HOM, Inc., and is an active member of the Arizona and Pacific Southwest chapters of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO). He maintains industry certifications of Public Housing Manager, Housing Quality Standards Inspections, and is designated as a Certified Credit Compliance Professional for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program. Michael is a former Chair of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness and served as a member of Phoenix Mayor Stanton’s Homelessness Advisory Committee. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Crisis Response Network. Michael was honored to be selected as one of the Phoenix Business Journal’s Forty Under 40, Class of 2011. Michael has been in the Valley of the Sun since 1990, and truly calls Arizona his home. Michael spends his free time at his daughter’s gymnastics meets, his son’s sporting events or his wife’s school events, but occasionally gets in a round of golf. Traveling with his family is his favorite pastime.
