Maricopa County Eviction Prevention Program
The Maricopa County Eviction Prevention (MCEP) Program provides rental assistance to eligible renter households experiencing a temporary financial hardship that puts them at risk of eviction or displacement.
The program is designed to reach households in targeted Maricopa County ZIP codes at the beginning of the eviction process, creating opportunities for assistance and intervention as early as possible.
Who Is Eligible?
To be eligible for the Maricopa County Eviction Prevention Program, applicants must:
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR)
- Currently reside in one of the following ZIP codes: 85008, 85040, 85041, or 85042
- Have experienced a temporary emergency or financial setback that has affected their ability to pay rent or utilities
- Have the ability to pay their monthly rent moving forward
Assistance is subject to eligibility and the availability of program funding.
Available Assistance
Eligible households may apply for rental assistance.
MCEP may provide up to two months of rental assistance, not to exceed $3,000.
Eviction Prevention Applications Are Currently Closed
Due to the high volume of applications received, we are no longer accepting new applications at this time. HOM is reviewing applications already submitted for eligibility and processing.

Information for Landlords
Landlords participating in the Maricopa County Eviction Prevention Program may need to complete and submit the following documents:
Maricopa County Landlord Form
The Landlord Verification Form must be complete by the landlord or property manager.
HOM Payment Form
Complete the HOM payment form to provide the information needed to process program payments.
IRS Form W-9
Complete Form W-9 to provide the required taxpayer identification information.
Additional Resources for City of Phoenix Residents
If you live within the City of Phoenix, additional eviction prevention and emergency financial assistance may be available through the City of Phoenix Human Services Department and its Family Services Centers. Services may include eviction prevention, utility assistance, move-in assistance, and other supports, depending on current funding availability.
City of Phoenix services are separate from the Maricopa County Eviction Prevention Program and are subject to their own eligibility requirements and available funding.
